WVNH Expansion
This year, our 10th anniversary year, has been an exciting one for NHGR. After 9 years in the making, a brand new Class A FM station covering the Lakes Region of NH debuted on July 1st.
WANH (Word Across NH) is now transmitting WVNH programming on 91.5FM and can be heard in Meredith, Center Harbor, Moultonbo-rough, Laconia, Wolfeboro and in the Squam Lake region. Broadcasting with a power output of nearly 2000 watts, our new transmitter site is on Moultonborough neck. With stations WVNH and WANH, and all of our translators, we now reach an estimated 250,000 people with solid Biblical programming around the clock.
Our Translators
The Ashland/Plymouth translator on 96.9FM has been switched over to receive the new 91.5FM signal thereby eliminating the noise that once accompanied the signal. Announcements heard on WVNH last year indicating the 104.3FM translator in Concord was to be retired at the end of 2008 prompted emails and calls to the station voicing concern that listeners would not be able to receive WVNH programming. This resulted in a reevaluation. We are happy to report that 104.3 not only remains on the air but the signal has been strengthened in the western section of Concord where the 91.1 signal was weak. A special thanks to the saints and leadership at Concord Bible Fellowship, the licensee of the 104.3 translator, for their help in keeping this important extension of WVNH on the air.
The WVNH Laconia translator at 96.1FM will remain and continue its duty to NH’s largest lake city.
The WVNH Barnstead translator at 103.9FM has moved into new service for Concord’s premier news station, WKXL, NH Family Radio.
Our New Location
37 Redington Rd. in Concord, New Hampshire
The management at NH Family Radio in Concord has graciously agreed to allow us to relocate our studio and operations to their Redington Road facility in Concord, NH. This has allowed WVNH and WANH added benefits that could not be realized at our old location. We are also saving nearly 50% in rental fees at this new facility. Special thanks to Jim Finney, the station manager of WKXL, and Gordon Humphrey for their willingness to be of help during this growth phase of the NHGR Network. We are planning an open house here at the new facility next spring with more news forthcoming.
