IRISH MUSIC CAMP 2019

Open Door Bible Church, 2324 Route 16 in West Ossipee, NH will be hosting an Irish Music Camp, Mon. July 15 through Thurs. July 18, 2019. Camp hours are 11:00 AM to 2:45 PM daily. Registration will be on Sunday July 14 from 2 to 4 PM.
This camp will be held in conjunction with Open Door Bible Church’s annual tent meeting. This meeting features the Sky Family from Prince Edward Island. Members of the Sky Family will be providing music and dance instruction, to the young people attending Irish Music Camp.
Who is the Sky Family? Just that, a family. The group consists of dad, Tom, who plays lead guitar, fiddle and piano; sons Seth, on bass; Joel on lead fiddle, flute and saxophone; and Gabe as lead dancer, guitar and drums. Last and definitely not least, is daughter, Miriam, who plays piano and dances a fine reel. All members contribute to the rich vocal harmonies and dance. Hailing from the North shore of Prince Edward Island they uniquely capture the Celtic influence of that region and now have the delight of sharing it with audiences from coast to coast. Visitors from all over the world have enjoyed their ‘Summer Concert Series’ at their SKY’S Performance Center on Prince Edward Island.
Music Camp will offer fiddle lessons to those who can already play the fiddle, students will need to bring their own instruments. There will also be Irish drum lessons, no experience required. Guitar lessons will also be available to those students, seeking to improve their skills, students will need to bring their own guitars.
Beginner and intermediate “hard shoe” Irish Dance lessons will be available. No special shoes or dance costumes are required. Those students who do not play one of the instruments listed above, will be able to participate in a choral group. They will learn to work as a group and will have the chance to learn various performance skills.
The highlight of the week, will be the opportunity to participate on stage, with the Sky Family at Thursday night’s performance. Camp will also include a Bible lesson and craft activities.           Campers will bring a bag lunch, drinks and snacks will be provided. There will be a $20.00 fee for each camper. Camperships will be available.
Music Camp is open to those students who will be entering 3rd to 12th grades, this fall. All are welcome, no church affiliation is required.
